Are you passionate about people and building workplaces where individuals truly thrive?

BluLever is looking for a driven and empathetic HC Associate to support and strengthen our growing team. This role is perfect for someone ready to step up, take ownership across the full human capital function, and help shape the culture of a purpose-led organisation from the ground up.

We’re an early-stage start-up, so this is your opportunity to help grow this organisation from the ground up and impact the learning of young and experienced artisans. To learn more, take a look at the sections below.

OUR VISION AND MISSION

BluLever Education is empowering Africa’s artisans with skills for the future. BluLever achieves this through holistic vocational education and skills training that creates ethical industry professionals of a global standard. BluLever’s Braamfontein Campus, focused on plumbing apprenticeships, launched in early 2021.

WHERE WE ARE NOW

BluLever Education is preparing Africa for the 4th industrial revolution by mobilising a movement of 5 million artisans as active citizens. We currently offer plumbing apprenticeships for 5 cohorts of 30 students per year, as well as various other artisan training products such as the MakersHub - an incubation hub that supports small businesses in their journey to growth, formalisation and stability. The Blulever team is growing fast, with many more opportunities for growth.

WHO ARE WE (YOU?)

We’re not just building another company, we’re building an institution, a movement that will outlast us all. The road will not be easy, but the impact will be monumental. We need open-minded, people-oriented, passionate, multi skilled, hardworking individuals to join the team and help us build the future of Africa.

Engagement & culture: Plan and execute team engagement initiatives, pulse surveys, and culture-building activities that reinforce BluLever's values and keep our team connected to the mission.

Wellness: Coordinate and champion team wellness programmes, supporting physical and mental wellbeing across the organisation.

Training & development: Identify skills gaps, coordinate internal and external training interventions, and help build a learning culture where every team member is growing.

WHAT YOU NEED

A minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a human capital or human resources function ideally in a fast-paced or start-up environment. You should be comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously, be highly organised, and bring genuine warmth and empathy to your interactions with people at every level of the organisation.

Required skills include HC data management, experience with HRIS or people management platforms, facilitation or coordination of onboarding processes, and an understanding of employee engagement and learning principles.
